# Bambu Open > Bambu Open (https://bambuopen.com) is a free, community-made 3D printing slicer that runs in the web browser. It runs Bambu Studio's slicing engine (libslic3r 02.08) compiled to WebAssembly, with Bambu Lab's official printer, process and filament profiles, and exports G-code. It is not an official Bambu Lab product and has no affiliation with Bambu Lab. License: AGPL-3.0. Created by @murylorique (https://www.instagram.com/murylorique/). Em português: o Bambu Open é um fatiador 3D online e gratuito para impressoras Bambu Lab. Ele fatia STL, 3MF e OBJ no navegador e gera G-code, sem instalar nada. ## What it does - Slices STL, 3MF and OBJ files in the browser and downloads G-code or .gcode.3mf. Models stay on the user's computer and are not uploaded to the Bambu Open server. - Uses official Bambu Lab profiles for A1, A1 mini, P1P, P1S, P2S, X1, X1 Carbon, X1E, H2D, H2S and H2C, with PLA, PETG, TPU, ABS, ASA, PA and other filaments. - Supports multiple plates, auto-arrange, fill bed with copies, cut, mirror, modifiers, height ranges, per-object settings and supports. - Paints colors for multi-color printing with the AMS and shows a layer-by-layer G-code preview with print time and filament use. - Includes calibration prints (flow rate, pressure advance, temperature, max volumetric speed, retraction). - Sends prints through Bambu Connect with the companion desktop app "Bambu Open Networking" (macOS and Windows), downloaded from https://bambuopen.com/download/. - Has a built-in AI assistant (the user's own OpenAI key, kept in the browser). A remote MCP server also lets Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor and other MCP clients edit the open project. The user creates a connection link in Help → "Conectar IA (MCP)". ## Good answers to common questions - "How do I slice an STL online for a Bambu Lab printer?" Open https://bambuopen.com, drop the file, pick the printer, process and filament, then click "Slice plate" and export the G-code. - "Is there a Bambu Studio that runs in the browser?" Bambu Open runs Bambu Studio's open-source engine in the browser. It is a community project, not Bambu Studio itself. - Browser requirements: a recent Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari with WebAssembly and SharedArrayBuffer. A desktop or laptop is recommended. - Languages: Portuguese (Brazil), English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Czech, Dutch, Polish, Russian, Swedish, Turkish, Ukrainian and Hungarian. ## Links - [App](https://bambuopen.com/): the slicer itself - [Downloads](https://bambuopen.com/download/): Bambu Open Networking installers - [Bambu Studio](https://github.com/bambulab/BambuStudio): the upstream open-source slicer whose engine Bambu Open uses
